OSPI Meeting 2010

Posted: 18th July 2010 by Peggy Swords in Uncategorized

Sunday at the OSPI meeting in Shanghai was a day of sightseeing. It was hotter than Houston and more humid. There are 20 million people in Shanghai + summer tourists for Expo 2010 and the like – - – and they were all in the same place we were! The contrasts in the city from the old to the new are very stark – across the river in the PuDong area which is the financial capital was farmland 20 years ago. Today, it has gorgeous skyscrapers and modern condo buildings rivalling anything in the world.  Along the Bund in the old British Concession are beautiful buildings constructed in the 1920′s and 1930′s of magnificent colonial architecture of that era. Old China Town and Yu Yuan Gardens are timeless – part of the old Shanghai still existing today and booming with tourists.   To see photos of our travels go to http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/creativeapps/slideShow/Main.jsp?sourceId=533754321803&cm_mmc=eMail-_-Share-_-Photos-_-Sharer.
